It's been a couple years, but planning on reviving this vision of a Pokemon region based on Texas. The culture and wildlife here is a fountain of ideas for not only fakemon, but current Pokemon from past games including Pre-evos, further evolutions, Eeveelutions that contain 2 types. The region is not only based on Texas, but parts of Louisiana (New Orleans, bayous, and swamps.), Mexico (Mayans and Aztecs), New Mexico (Desert Mountains), and Oklahoma (Country mixed with Urban living along with Route 66 and a casino resort). The region of Teola (Yea, that's what I'm calling it) is located not too far from Kanto and Johto (2 of my fav regions and is extremely diverse due to constant weather change throughout a year. 1 month sustained Sunny, rainy, and snowy weather (Based on this past January and February down here where it was sunny, then rain a bit, and we got heavy snow for a week.) So the weather is similar to the 5th Gen video games. The region has 4 oil fields which attract lots of fire and poison types in the region along with a few others from other regions. Though, Water Pokemon can prosper in the region with ponds, rivers, and lakes connected all around the region. Grass types aren't left out as some of the reason is open fields and forests along with beautiful mountains and dusty deserts full of Rock and Ground types, The region also discovered 2 new types: Light and Sound. Light is basically what it is mixed with Cosmic power. Sound is based on the music scene here and some of the Pokemon will be based on singers. Already have over 200-300 ideas in along with rivals, gangs (Yea, it's gonna be more than 1 evil team on here.), Celebrities and cartoon characters from shows as trainers, along with other surprises along the way. Been busy with personal life and never had time to put this idea out in a few years, but thinking of doing it gradually for real this time. Lived in Texas for most of my life, and been seeing so many fan made games out and some based of places like Colombia and Africa which are places I've been extremely been interested in. Some based in California and the Midwest which look good too. Even a Legend of Zelda based game is being created which I'm invested in. Even playing video games where Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, New York, Chicago is being based on, but Texas is is a beautiful state that's diverse. Cities like Dallas and Houston are great for starting a better life and career. Even San Antonio is a good place to live. Also Austin is the best to be financially stable with the countless possibilities and opportunities for pre and post college grads. Still, Texas is basically slept on. So wanting to build this around my home state and the beauty of the Lone Star State.
